Hunter’s Quarter – Pokolbin, NSW, Australia

I try to keep up with the restaurant happenings in the Hunter Valley but I missed this one and what a pleasant surprise it is!  Located at the Cockfighter’s Ghost Vineyard on De Beyers Road, it’s elegant without being too fussy.  A relaxed space with pleasantly professional service.

The seasonal menu has options for everyone in fact, we had entrees and mains and I had trouble choosing just two!  Everything sampled was delicious but I’m glad we stretched ourselves to include the soufflé – it was truly outstanding.  All up, great quality, fresh produce and well balanced flavours.  The wine list also provides plenty of choice for all tastes and budgets.

From our table right inside the floor to ceiling windows we had an uninterrupted view of the vineyards and with the super comfortable chairs and the stunning outlook, I could have stayed all afternoon.
