Pranburi – Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand

Pranburi is located in the northern part of Prachuap Khiri Khan province and for me, this is where the presence of mass tourism starts to become more evident with large international resorts and the usual touristy shops. Beaches are ok but most are becoming busy with hotels. If you’re looking for a one stop resort ‘holiday by the pool’, this is the place.

We had been to Pranburi previously so we popped in there to check on progress and were pleased to see not much had changed. Beaches are ok but most are built up

On this occasion we stayed at the Sanae Beach Club and the rooms were fantastic but for everything else, I don’t rate it highly (Hotel review >here) The beach is not really worth a visit – there are many better ones in this area.

Food:
In Pranburi we ate lunch at the family restaurant next to the Evason Resort and it’s still a nice alternative to the bigger resorts. As our accommodation was miles from anywhere, we ate dinner in the hotel restaurant but it’s the only place I’ve eaten recently that I would definitely not recommend (details are also covered in the hotel review).

Who would it suit?
Couples, friends and families but it’s a mixed bag here so both independent travellers and package tourists are catered for.
