We’ve been riding past for a few weeks and thought it looked cute so we put it on our list but now I wish we had stopped in sooner. Staff are welcoming and happy to assist with recommendations if required. We opted for grilled aubergine, grilled bacon (aka pork belly) and pork in guava leaves.

We chose Citrus purely on appearances – from the street it’s light, airy and clean and that theme continues inside. We didn’t have an appointment but the welcome was friendly and we were given ample opportunity to chose the treatment that best suited our needs.

Hoang’s place is a relaxed, family run establishment. No frills but clean, cheap and cheerful. The menu is not huge but all the local specialities are there and not only that, they are some of the best I’ve tried in Hoi An, particularly the crispy pork wontons. – each large wonton was topped with a generous serving of delicious rich salsa-like tomato sauce and a prawn.

That little garbage in the corner of the room has finally shamed me into using it.

Two things drew us to 96 for dinner. Firstly, the riverside location is tops for people watching in the crazy centre of the old town but even better and secondly, they advertised their drinks with very fair prices (compared to most in this area) clearly displayed out front.

Brilliant!  Love it!!

We’ve travelled a bit in Vietnam and this is easily the best Vietnamese meal we’ve had –  fresh, tasty and full of flavour but it was also different. Yes, the standard dishes are available but there are also others that are not on every other menu.
