Read MoreWe chose The Paragon based on location and the fact that it has a pool. Although the pool was nice enough, we didn’t use it in the end but with sights, restaurants, bars and shopping nearby, the location is definitely a winner.

And yes, this has been a source of contention amongst both nationalities over the years! One of the island’s primary industries is fishing and evidence of this can be seen in the eye-catching trawlers crowding ports and anchored around the coast.

Excess baggage sucks big time! If you do the crime, you must be prepared to pay the fine but it’s hard to swallow when you do the right thing and dump some kilos and then see others taking carry on baggage larger than our check-in…. Air Asia provide an efficient and cost productive product but they need to work on their consistency.

Normally that makes me a little sad but I can honestly say I like it much better now than I did last time. Being surrounded by mountains, it’s quite a green city and less humid than our southern stops.

We were greeted by smiling faces and welcomed like family – in fact check in was almost non-existent and after a long drive, it was wonderful to be taken straight to our room to relax.
