Secret Garden Beach Resort & Restaurant – Bangrak, Koh Samui, Thailand

We usually stay in villa accommodation during our visits to Samui so we haven’t stayed at The Secret Garden but after a quick look through, I would certainly recommend it someone looking for bungalows in an alternative area to busy Chaweng. We come here for the restaurant and it’s terrific.
The restaurant and bar are open air with an under cover section and also tables on the sand. If you’re visiting in the evening and manage to arrive before dusk, it’s very likely you will be treated to one of the best sunsets on the island. Beers, cocktails and wine are all served with a smile and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
For food, the restaurant does get busy so if you’re planning ahead, a booking would be good but if you’re a spur of the moment person, pop in anyway and there’s a good chance they’ll find something for you. Each night has a theme but our favourite is Thursday for ‘all you can eat ribs’. The ribs are not huge (I like that because it makes them easy to eat), the meat falls off the bone and the sauce is tasty but not overly sweet. In this case, the ‘all you can eat’ is genuine – the staff are always nearby with another serve and at 299thb it’s terrific value. As with all of their theme nights, the a la carte menu is also available.
I also highly recommend the live music on Sundays. They obviously put some effort into finding the best artists and it makes for a relaxing and fun evening.
We will definitely be revisiting while we’re local, and might even try the breakfast menu.
